Chung-Yong Lee once again captained his nation, playing 58 minutes, as Korea Republic were defeated 2-1 by Russia in a friendly in Dubai on Tuesday afternoon.
The winger was named in Myung-Bo Hong’s starting XI ahead of kick-off and was heavily involved in the opening 45.
Korea took the lead after just six minutes through Kim Shin-Wook but Fyodor Smolov restored parity for the Russians.
After the interval Chung-Yong was withdrawn on 58 minutes, with Russia then taking a lead as minute later through Dmitri Tarasov.
Chung-Yong will now return to Bolton and link up with his team-mates in the coming days ahead of the weekend’s trip to Watford.
