Korean speaks after netting at the Reebok for the first time in over 20 months

Chung-Yong Lee expressed his delight at netting his first Reebok goal in over 20 months, as the Korean helped Wanderers register three points against Birmingham City.

Despite falling behind early on Wanderers ran out comfortable winners in their final game of 2012, hauling themselves to within touching distance of the play-off places.

Chung-Yong, whose three previous goals this season had come away from home at Middlesbrough, Blackpool and Blackburn respectively, last scored at the Reebok Stadium back in April 2011 in a 3-0 victory over West Ham.

And speaking after the game the 24-year-old believes both he and the side can go from strength-to-strength heading into the New Year.

“I really enjoyed the game,” he said. “It was a big moment for me in the Reebok Stadium. We won and everyone had good play.

“Also, long time I didn’t score in the Reebok Stadium. Because of my injury, I think two years ago I last score in the Reebok Stadium. When I score here it makes me very happy.

“The skipper make for me good ball. Then I run and just try to shoot.

“Yes, I score before against Birmingham. My favourite goal in the FA Cup. But it doesn't matter who we play, just win.

“I celebrate with the fans because they have supported me since my injury. It makes me feel up when I scored and I see the supporters happy.

“I still feel like I am getting better after the injury. Maybe I am at 80 or 90 percent, but I feel like I am getting closer to what I was before my injury. Not only my feelings in my leg, but in my confidence. I’m nearly there.

“My body is okay; there is no problems. When I get more confidence every game I feel I can get better and make more good play.

“We want to win more games so we can go high in the table. I think in today’s game, the players performed well which was good for the fans.

“They scored the goal early. It was a good goal - we didn’t make a mistake or our tactics were wrong. After that I still think we can win.

“We have a lot of games in these days. We need to have a good recovery and make sure we think well. Everyone is being clever in the training ground and there are no problems.”
