Bolton Wanderers are saddened to hear that former player Eric Bell has died, aged 82.
Bell, from Clayton in Manchester, made 118 appearances and scored two goals for the club between 1949 and 1958.
One of his goals was to put Bolton 3-1 up in the 1953 FA Cup final after he tore his hamstring after only 18 minutes but played on for the rest of the game.
His only league goal came in a 6-1 win over Wolves at Burnden Park. He also won two caps for the England B team.
Bell died peacefully with his family by his side at the Marion Lauder care home in Wythenshawe.
All at Bolton Wanderers offer their condolences to Eric Bell's family.
