Team Tours Direct are currently hosting a youth soccer tournament at Lostock.

With sixty three teams taking part from England, Norway, Uganda, Hungary, Australia, Kenya, Trinidad and Tobago and neighbouring Wales and Republic of Ireland the tournament is a fantastic international event.

The tournament began on Wednesday and is due to come to an exciting finale this Saturday. Matches begin at 10:00am sharp with the last kick-off taking place at 4:00pm.

The age groups for the tournament are Under 8’s going all the way up to youth level. Some of the younger categories allow for male and female participation but there are some older male only categories in the tournament.

The aim of the tournament is to increase participation and enjoyment; this is why the competition is run with fairness as a priority. Teams will compete in group stages with every single team qualifying through to a semi-final.

The top teams in each group will qualify for the English International Super Cup and lower ranked teams will join the Challenge Cup and trophy competitions.  All the tournaments are running for the full four days of the event except for the Under 8’s which started Friday and will finish with the rest of the age groups on Saturday.
