In League One Craig Davies started his second game for Preston North End, who were 2-1 winners at Tranmere Rovers.
Davies played 82 minutes before being subbed off, with Simon Grayson’s men comfortably sitting in the play-off places.
In the same division Tom Eaves also played 71 minutes for Shrewsbury, who were beaten 2-0 away at Sheffield United.
Keith Andrews missed Brighton & Hove Albion’s 1-0 home victory over Doncaster with a hamstring injury.
