Dougie Freedman has confirmed that on-loan striker Joe Mason will start from the off in the weekend’s game against Doncaster.
Mason has twice been used as a substitute since his temporary switch from Premier League outfit Cardiff City was rubber-stamped late last month.
“Over the last few games I feel we’ve maybe lacked a bit of energy,” the manager said at his pre-match press conference. “With that in mind we’re going to be giving young Joe Mason as run out.
“He has trained very well and will come into the side for Saturday’s game and hopefully freshen things up for us.
“Joe probably feels he has got a point to prove, and that’s certainly something we can benefit from.
“When you sign a loan player he has got to come to the club with the right attitude, and Joe certainly has that.
“He is a player I have tried to sign on a number of occasions and he has been good to work with so far. He deserves this opportunity and I’m sure he’ll take it.”
