Broadcast company ESPN has launched a poll to establish football supporters’ all-time favourite FA Cup moment with Wanderers’ 2-0 win over West Ham United in 1923 shortlisted.
More than 250,000 people witnessed Bolton win the first ever FA Cup final inside the Empire Stadium, Wembley with David Jack and Jack Smith on the score sheet for the Whites.
So ahead of the sixth round ties this weekend, Bolton’s memorable moment has been categorised in the FA Cup matches that changed history.
Wanderers’ famous moment will go up against the Spurs’ double winning team in the 1960/61 campaign and Kenny Dalgish’s last game as manager of Liverpool in 1991 in a fourth round Merseyside derby against Everton.
Bolton also face competition from Paul Gascoigne’s memorable performance against Arsenal in the same year when he scored a 30-yard free-kick for north London rivals Tottenham in the semi-finals, whilst the final moment is Lous Saha’s 25 second opener in the 2009 FA Cup final between Chelsea and Everton.
