Bolton Wanderers U18s got off to a winning start, as they beat MK Dons 2-0 at Woughton on the Green on Saturday morning.
Goals from First year scholar Josh Vela and striker Oulwasamni Odelusi ensured Wanderers came back with all three points from a tricky opening game.
Assistant Academy Manager and U18 Coach, David Lee, said: "We didn't play to well first half, it was a bit of a fight and a scrap, but it was much better second half and we got the two goals, so we're really pleased."
Wanderers took 18 players down for the experience of an overnight stay, but it was central midfielder, Josh Vela, who opened the scoring after a drab first half.
James Cayton crossed from the right for Vela to expertly volley into the bottom right corner from 12 yards out.
Vela then turned provider when, on a darting right-wing run, his sublime cross found the head of Oulwasamni Odelusi, who made no mistake with a firm header.

Odelusi, who scored three times - twice with winners - as the side reached the final of the Milk Cup, had further chances to extend the Whites' lead, heading over from point-blank range and dragging a shot wide.
But it was of no matter as the new management team started the league season with a morale-boosting win ahead of next week's first home league tie, against Southampton.
Bolton Wanderers: Jay Lynch (gk), Andy Kellett, Ryan Stayte, Andrew Burns, Elliott Dennis, Liam Irwin, Josh Vela, Lewis Proudfoot (Raphael Duyile, 78), James Caton, Jack Sampson (Graeme MacGregor, 20), Oulwasamni Odelusi.
