John Henry

Posted on: Wed 15 Sep 2010

John Henry joined Wanderers in January 2010 shortly after the appointment of Owen Coyle as first-team manager. Henry previously played under Coyle in Scotland and was also part of his backroom team at Burnley, having moved to Turf Moor from Partick Thistle in July 2009.

A seasoned midfield campaigner, Henry launched his career at Clydebank, before going on to enjoy spells with Falkirk, Airdrieonians, St Johnstone, Queen of the South and Dumbarton.

In 2007, he made the move into coaching, accepting a job with Partick, who were managed by his former boss Ian McCall. Coyle then lured him to England in the summer of 2009 and after a brief spell at Burnley, he followed his fellow Scot to the Reebok in January 2010.

Henry's role at the Reebok is to work with the scholars and the young professionals on a day-to-day basis to prepare and nuture them for progress to the first-team setup. He also oversees and manages the reserve team.
