Bolton Wanderers Disability Football Club open age side kicked off their season last Tuesday at Salford Sports Village in the Greater Manchester Ability Counts Football League.
BWDFC got off to a fine start against opponents in the first match, Ashton on Mersey, taking a comfortable 3-0 lead going into the half-time break.
However, a couple of errors in the second 45 minutes saw Ashton pull back three goals to claim a share of the spoils.
The second game of the evening was a local derby against Wigan Athletic, which once again saw some great football played by BWDFC as they led 3-1 at half-time.
Unfortunately again, a lack of concentration, some missed chances and a good second half performance from the Latics resulted in a 4-3 defeat.
Despite the disappointment of registering only a draw and a defeat from what should have been two victories, the players and staff enjoyed their return to open age football.
BWDFC will return to Salford Sports Village on Tuesday 11 November aiming to claim their first win of the season, with the fixtures yet to be confirmed.
