GAVIN McCANN is hoping to be fit for the start of Wanderers' pre-season after undergoing successful knee treatment in the United States.

After helping his side to preserve their top-flight status, the Wanderers midfielder visited the renowned Steadman-Hawkins clinic in Colorado to sort out a knee problem.

And the former Villa man is confident he'll be ready for action ahead of the new season.

"It went well," he said. "All being well I'll be fine when I report back for training next month."
