Whites In Greece
WANDERERS ARRIVED in Thessaloniki on Sunday evening as they prepare for two tough tests against Aris FC and AEK Athens prior to the big Barclays Premier League kick off in less than two weeks' time.
Gary Megson's men take on last season's UEFA Cup opponents Aris FC at the Kleanthis Vikelidis Stadium tonight (7:00pm UK time).
Following on from some good workouts against Rochdale, Macclesfield, Doncaster Rovers and Chorley, Wanderers will be stepping up their preparations for the Stoke City game against the side that finished fourth in the Greek Super League last term.
Of course, both sides will be familar with one another after sharing a 1-1 draw at the Reebok Stadium last season in the Group stages of the UEFA Cup.
Antonio Calvo put the Greek outfit in front on the stroke of half-time, before Stelios netted a last-gasp equaliser to break the hearts of his countrymen.
Over 10,000 supporters from Greece's second city are expected to turn up for the friendly on Monday evening.
Wanderers will then fly to Athens on Tuesday in readiness for Friday night's clash against AEK.
