JOHAN ELMANDER and Matt Taylor both picked up knocks during Saturday's defeat to Newcastle United, but manager Gary Megson revealed that the duo shouldn't be on the sidelines for too long.

The Swede went off early on after colliding with Fabricio Coloccini and Shay Given. Although he appeared to be clutching his knee following the incident, the record signing is understood to have sustained a minor hamstring injury.

Taylor limped off later in the game after taking a blow to his foot.

Megson said: "Johan has got a problem with his hamstring and Matty Taylor got a knock on his big toe. Hopefully, neither of them will be out for a long time."
