Bolton Wanderers v Manchester City,
Barclays Premier League,
Sunday 2 November,
The Reebok Stadium, 4pm Kick-Off
Final Score: Bolton 2 (Gardner 77, Dunne (og) 88) Manchester City 0
90+3 mins - That's it! Mike Riley blows for full-time and Bolton have claimed a much needed three points in style. The second half performance was first class and it's onwards and upwards for the Whites now.
90 mins - Three minutes of injury time signalled by the fourth official Chris Foy.
88 mins - Goal for Bolton! Richard Dunne turns the ball into his own goal when trying to clear Ricardo Gardner's cross. That's surely game, set and match for the Whites.
85 mins - What a tackle by Jlloyd Samuel. It was a genuine goal saving challenge as the left-back read the danger to come across and cut out Ben Haim's cross.
82 mins - 'Oohhs' from the crowd as Matt Taylor drills in a low shot from the edge of the box. It's saved well by Hart, diving to his left.
77 mins - Goal for Bolton! Ricardo Gardner caps off a fantastic Bolton move by finishing Gretar Steinsson's low cross with some help from the crossbar. It's a thoroughly deserved lead.
74 mins - Bolton are doing everything but score. This time Kevin Nolan finds himself unmarked at the far post, but the linesman's flag comes to Manchester City's rescue.
69 mins - Double change for the Citizens. Off goes Evans and Elano and on comes Hamann and Sturridge.
68 mins - Gretar Steinsson shows great desire to chase down what seemed a lost cause. He is penalised for a push, but it typifies the spirit Bolton are showing in an attempt to get the opening goal.
66 mins - Ricardo Gardner fires into the North Stand much to the frustration of the home supporters.
64 mins - Mike Riley refuses to give Bolton a penalty when Richard Dunne kicks Matthew Taylor inside the box. Replays suggest it was a foul, but the man with the task of making the important decisions doesn't blow his whistle.
62 mins - What a save by Joe Hart! The Manchester City goalkeeer spreads himself fantastically to deny Kevin Nolan. The captain tries to recover the ball, but again Hart is on hand to catch the cross.
60 mins - Matt Taylor waves his arms in an attempt to get the crowd more vocal.
58 mins - Kevin Davies scuffs an attempted back heel to Kevin Nolan, who had advanced with a run from midfield through the middle of the pitch.
57 mins - Jussi makes his third fine save of the afternoon, palming away Robinho's curling effort from an acute angle.
56 mins - 21,095 is the official attendance.
53 mins - Ricardo Gardner excites the crowd with a weaving run through the middle of the park. He is eventually tackled but it starts a period of intense attacking play for a minute of two.
51 mins - After taking a couple of neat touches to control the ball, Gardner fizzes an effort over the crossbar. Straight up the other end and Shaun Wright-Phillips does exactly the same after cutting in off the right touchline.
50 mins - Shaun Wright-Phillips can't take advantage of a two-on-two break for the visitors as his pass is cut out by Samuel
47 mins - Matt Taylor clumsily fouls Robinho just outside the Bolton box. Elano's free-kick takes one bounce before Jaaskelainen gathers with a routine save.
46 mins - Within a few seconds of the restart, Stephen Ireland commits a foul on Ricardo Gardner.
45+2 mins - Mike Riley blows his whistle to signal the end of the first half.
45+1 mins - Jaaskelainen again prevents Manchester City from taking the lead as he blocks Ched Evan's snap shot.
45 mins - Gary Cahill is penalised for pushing inside the City penalty box just as the foruth official signals two minutes of injury time.
43 mins - Riga hasn't managed to shrug off that injury picked up a few minutes ago. He limps off and is replaced by Ricardo Gardner.
41 min - Despite having nothing to do for almost the entire first half, Jaaskelainen is alert when Robinho's slide rule pass finds the feet Stephen Ireland. The goalkeeper races off his line to repel Ireland's shot on goal.
39 mins - Riga lies down injured after Richard Dunne's tough tackle. The winger is soon back on his feet after a bit of treatment from physio Nick Worth.
37 mins - There's a slight altercation between Jussi Jaaskelainen and Ched Evans on the edge of the Bolton box. The striker is penalised for a barge and the situation is calmly resolved.
36 mins - Jlloyd Samuel's pull back avoids everyone and Manchester City hack the ball clear.
34 mins - Taylor's stabbed volley is collected comfortably by Joe Hart. The ball landed on Taylor's weaker right foot so perhaps the outcome would have been different if he'd connected with his left.
32 mins - Zabaletta is rightly booked for a cynical late tackle on Jlloyd Samuel.
30 mins - Gretar Steinsson makes an important interception to rob Robinho of the ball deep in the Bolton half. It's behind for a corner, but the Whites clear any danger.
25 mins - Kevin Davies' header is marginally wide of the target. Mind you, it wouldn't have counted because Mike Riley had penalised the striker for a bit of pushing.
21 mins - After passing the ball around the pitch nicely, Fabrice Mumba belts the ball over from 25 yards out. Gavin McCann's touch set the ball up perfectly for the midfielder but his shot lacked the neccessary accuracy.
17 mins - Joe Hart's poor kick lands at the feet of Riga just outside the box. The number 17 tries to jink past Micah Richards, but his effort is wayward and the ball lands in with the visiting supporters.
15 mins - Kompany trips Kevin Davies 25 yards out from goal. Taylor's set piece hits the wall and Riga can't convert the rebound.
13 mins - Riga latches onto Kevin Davies' early throw before whipping in a delicious ball from out on the byline. Unfortunately it's just a bit too high for Matty Taylor, but it was a good piece of play anyhow.
10 mins - You can tell straight away when Tal Ben Haim gets hold of the ball. Every touch the Israeli makes is greeted with a chorus of boos from the Bolton fans.
8 mins - It looks like Bolton have reverted back to the trusty 4-5-1 formation, with Riga slotting in on the right and Davies playing as the lone striker.
6 mins - Robinho fires over from just outside the area. Jaaskelainen watched the ball sail over his head and the crossbar, but Robinho's reaction suggests that it was closer than it appeared.
5 mins - Matt Taylor sticks out a foot to prevent Robinho's pinpoint pass from reaching Zabaletta. It was an important touch too because the full-back had ghosted in unmarked at the far post.
2 mins - Shaun Wright-Phillips gives the Bolton fans an early glimpse of his ability as he embarks on a jinking run down the right wing. Kevin Nolan makes a cunching tackle to halt the winger's progress and it's out for a throw-in.
15.55 - Out come the players to a raptuous reception. After all the pre-match formalities Robinho and Evans start the game.
15.50 - We are graced with the presence of Martin Tyler and Andy Gray this afternoon. The famous double act are here as part of Sky Sports broadcast team. They've just taken their seats high up on the gantry and are ready to go on air any minute now.
15.45 - Jussi Jaaskelainen plays in his 400th game for Bolton this afternoon. It's a fantastic achievement for the 33-year-old goalkeeper, who was brought to the club by Colin Todd 11 years ago. Let's hope he can celebrate the milestone with a clean sheet and three points!
15.40 - Marc Iles, reporter for the Bolton News, has just provided some interesting statistics on Mike Riley, the referee for today's game. On his last three visits to the Reebok he has flashed a red card to a Bolton player, with ones of those games being the famous 2-2 draw with Leicester in the 2001/02 season in which both Paul Warhurst and Dean Holdsworth were sent for an early bath.
15.35 - Hello and welcome to the Reebok Stadium for the important Barclays Premier League clash between Bolton Wanderers and Manchester City. We are encountering a few problems with the website this afternoon, so apologies if there seems to be a lack of updates, but it's an issue beyond our control.
Anyhow, the teams have been announced and Gary Megson has made one change from the midweek defeat to Everton. There's no Johan Elmander, who is presumably out injured, so Gavin McCann comes back into the side following his one-game suspension.
