Jlloyd Samuel has called for his team mates to develop a consistent run of form as the business end of the season approaches.
The former Aston Villa man has targeted six points from Wanderers next two home matches against West Ham United and Newcastle United, which will give the team a springboard in final three months of the campaign.
Wanderers will take time out of match action this weekend as the FA Cup schedule returns for the fifth round stage, but Samuel believes that the 14-day break between the defeat at Goodison Park and the home clash against the Hammers will serve as good preparation for the remaining 13 fixtures.
He said: "It's about finding that consistency, which hasn't happened to a lot of teams and that's why the league is so tight. We did in November and that's what we need to find again.
"Everyone is beating everyone, but we want to look at our games that we've got coming up because they are good games and represent a chance of picking up points.
"This break has probably come at the right time for us. Obviously you do want to play a game as soon as possible but we can look back on the Everton game and try and be positive for the future.
"Our next couple of games are at home and they are big games for us and if we play like we had done before Everton then we will be fine. We have got over the defeat, and we are sticking together.
"The onus will be on us and we want to take three points from both matches. We have to believe that we can win these.
"But you can say that about a lot of team because everything is so tight and obviously we want the points because we want to push up the league."
