Gary Megson revealed his satisfaction with the way his Wanderers team fought back to earn a deserved point against Aston Villa.
The manager felt that Bolton didn't play to their full potential, but he was delighted with the character that was shown after the Whites slipped behind just before the half-time whistle.
Megson said: "A point isn't the result we wanted, but it's certainly better than getting beaten. The response that we got without really playing any really good football was terrific.
"The quality wasn't particularly good, but the enthusiasm, desire, honesty from the Bolton players was there.
"We did okay without playing anywhere near like champagne football. Aston Villa have taken a lead 13 times this season and they have won 11 of them and drawn two, so we've done well against a top-class side."
Tamir Cohen grabbed Wanderers' equaliser and Megson explained how he hopes that the Israeli's impressive performance will act as platform to bigger and better things with the club.
He added: "I'm convinced that he can get goals. He's got a huge amount to learn about English football, and he can't learn that whilst on the treatment table. It's not his fault that he has been injured for a long time. Hopefully he can use this as a springboard to kick-on.
"He is capable of scoring goals. He's a good athlete and he's got a decent strike on him. I think that goal was with his right foot today, and yet he's a left-footed player. Hopefully this goal will do him good."
