Wanderers Open Against Black Cats
WANDERERS WILL open their 2009/2010 Barclays Premier League campaign at the Reebok Stadium on Saturday 15 August against Sunderland.
Steve Bruce, who left Wigan in the summer, will return to the North West for his first game in charge of the Black Cats.
The trip to Arsenal, scheduled for Tuesday 18 August, will be rearranged due to the Gunners' involvement in the Champions' League play-offs.
Wanderers' next fixture, on Saturday 22 August, will see them travel to the KC Stadium for a clash against Phil Brown's Hull City.
Gary Megson's men will then entertain Liverpool on Saturday August 29.
Games against other local rivals in the first half of the season include Manchester United (A) 17/10/09, Everton (H) 24/10/09, Blackburn Rovers (H) 21/11/09, Manchester City (H) 12/12/09, Wigan Athletic (A) 19/12/09 and Burnley (A) 26/12/09.
Wanderers will end the campaign in front of their own supporters when Birmingham City make the journey up the M6 on Sunday 9 May.
