Playing For Success Celebrates Ten Years
Study@bwfc will be celebrating its ten year anniversary at the Reebok Stadium next week by holding a day of inspiring learning activities for young people.
The 'Ten Year Playing for Success Celebration' is being held to commemorate a decade of 'out of hours' learning at the Reebok Stadium, during which time over 10,000 young people have benefited from additional support in ICT, literacy and numeracy in partnership with local schools.
The celebration on Friday 3 July will include over 200 young people participating in two main events: 'Singing in the Stadium', which brings young people together to showcase musical talents and newly-developed skills in music technology, and 'Poetry in Motion' with performance poet Craig Bradley leading a 'poetry slam' competition.
Children will also be involved in writing a celebration poem to mark the occasion.
Playing for Success is a successful partnership between the Department for Children, Schools and families, local authorities and professional sporting venues ranging from football clubs to ice hockey rinks and racecourses.
Chief Executive of Bolton Wanderers, Allan Duckworth, said: "We have been delighted to provide support for Playing for Success over the past ten years and we look forward to continuing our excellent relationship over the coming years."
