Skipper Signs New Deal

Posted on: Tue 18 Aug 2009

KEVIN DAVIES has penned a one-year extension to his current deal and is now contracted at the Reebok Stadium until the summer of 2012.

"
I am really pleased that we could add another year to Kevin's contract," said Wanderers manager, Gary Megson.

"He has been absolutely 100 per cent since I arrived. He is a great leader on and off the pitch - a modern day professional footballer setting a great example and he is fully committed to Bolton Wanderers."

The Yorkshireman, who was installed as team captain in February, had his best ever goalscoring season for the club with a 12-goal haul in the 2008/09 campaign.

Last week, central defender Gary Cahill signed a new three-year deal with the club after he also enjoyed a great season at the Wanderers, which saw him gain a call-up to the England squad.
