Gretar Steinsson has revealed his delight after capping his return to Wanderers' starting line-up with a win at Fratton Park.
Good form from Sam Ricketts and illness had restricted the 27-year-old to just one substitute appearance this season prior to the weekend's victory at Portsmouth.
Steinsson impressed on his return to the team in a right-midfield role, assisting in the first goal of the game by supplying a perfectly weighted slide-rule pass for Tamir Cohen.
"It was fantastic to come back into the team," Steinsson exclusively told Wanderers Player.
"I had a good ten days away with the international team and I found my rhythm again after being ill. I managed to get the power back, I felt 100 percent and I played in two really good games.
"I found out the day before that I would be playing and I had to change my mindset a little bit because I have played at right-back for such a long time. I had to switch my mentality and try to help Davo (Kevin Davies) because a different type of running is needed, but like I say, I just enjoyed being back in the team and I wanted to show that I am ready to take my place again.
"It was really important to show the fans and the manager that they can count on me. I gave everything that I had, as I do always, and I was happy that I managed to put in a good pass to Tamir for his goal."
