Fabrice Muamba insists that he will have no time for sentiment when Wanderers travel to Birmingham City this Saturday.
The England U21 international will be making his first return to St Andrew's, a stadium where he plied his trade for two seasons prior to making a £5m switch to Bolton in June 2008.
Muamba admits that he has good memories from his time with the Blues, but his sole mission on Saturday afternoon is to help his team record another Barclays Premier League victory.
Speaking to Wanderers Player, he said: "I'm just looking forward to trying to get the three points on Saturday.
"I've improved in a lot of ways since I left because I was still a boy when I was at Birmingham. At Bolton I'm surrounded by a lot of players who have been there and done it in the Premier League and that has helped me to learn, and it is the same with the manager and the coaching staff.
"I have no regrets in leaving Birmingham. I enjoyed my time whilst I was there but now I'm more settled down and I'm happy with my football."
Muamba was instrumental in England U21s crusade through to the final in this summer's European Championships, and he believes that he has continued that good form into the start of the domestic season.
He explained: "I believe that my performances have been better than last season. I've improved many aspects of my game and now I need to continue learning.
"I don't think I'm too far away from scoring my first goal for Bolton either. I'm sure that will come soon and I just need to be a bit more relaxed in front of goal."
And after 120 minutes of football in midweek against West Ham United, Muamba insists that the players will have their batteries fully recharged for 3pm on Saturday afternoon.
He added: "It was a very competitive game and we matched West Ham everywhere and we deserved to be in the next round. The manager has brought in a great backroom staff and we have done all of our recovery work ready for Birmingham."
