Bolton Wanderers v Manchester City,
Barclays Premier League,
Saturday 12 December, 2009,
Reebok Stadium, 3pm Kick-Off

Wanderers entertain Manchester City on Saturday afternoon looking to build upon the impressive home record against the blue side of Manchester.

The Trotters have won two and drawn two of the last four Premier League meetings at the Reebok Stadium and a repeat of the 2-0 victory from last season would be welcome this weekend.

A strike from Ricardo Gardner and an own goal from former captain Richard Dunne helped to condemn the men from Eastlands to defeat - a match which kick-started a run of form that saw Wanderers register four victories out of five last November.

Gary Megson is gunning for a repeat this season but admits that it will be difficult against a club that has radically transformed their playing squad over the course of the last two transfer windows.

The likes of Robinho, Roque Santa Cruz, Carlos Tevez, Shay Given, Joleon Lescott, Emmanuel Adebayor and Kolo Toure have all been added to the roster at Eastlands since the two sides met at the Reebok last November. All of those players are expected to be available for selection on Saturday with the only definite notable absentee being Michael Johnson, who could be sidelined for the remainder of the season after injuring a knee in training.

There have been doubts over the fitness of Craig Bellamy so it remains to be seen as to whether he will make Mark Hughes final matchday squad.

As for Bolton, manager Gary Megson reported on Thursday at his pre-match press conference that only Sean Davis and Joey O'Brien will be unavailable for selection. Kevin Davies is set to return to the attack so for that happen, the Trotters boss will have to make at least one change to his starting line-up.

Manchester City travel to the Reebok residing in sixth place in the Premier League table, just two points adrift of the Champions League positions. A victory against Chelsea last Saturday capped off a fine week for the Mancunians, who also reached the Carling Cup semi-finals with a 3-0 victory over Arsenal just days earlier. However midfielder Vincent Kompany isn't getting too carried with City's recent form.

Speaking to their official website, he said: "Our spirits are high at the moment, but a strength of this team is that we are a very focused group so even though we enjoyed the weekend, once we started on Monday it was over and we're just looking forward to Bolton now. That's our only objective."

The history of the Bolton Wanderers - Manchester City fixture dates back to 1898 when the two clubs met in the FA Cup second round. The Whites ran out 1-0 winners on that afternoon and have since recorded 44 more wins against the Citizens.

The referee for the match is Mark Clattenburg. The last time that the Tyne and Wear-based official was at the Reebok was for the 1-1 draw against Stoke City in the middle of September. In 16 games this season, Clattenburg has dished out 46 yellow cards and two reds.

For those who aren't travelling to the Reebok Stadium, live uninterrupted commentary is available on Wanderers Player. The broadcast starts at 2.30pm with official club commentator Phil Gittins talking listeners through the action from kick-off.
