Robbo: We Have Got To Be Professional

Posted on: Sat 02 Jan 2010

Paul Robinson has called for Wanderers to put on a professional display when they entertain Lincoln City in the FA Cup Third Round on Saturday afternoon.

The Imps travel to the Reebok having disposed of AFC Telford and Northwich Victoria in the first two rounds, and the full-back has stated the importance of not underestimating their League Two opponents.

He said: "On the one hand it will be good because we won't have the pressure of the league so we can go out and enjoy it but we know that games against lower league opposition are never easy. We know they will come here fired up for the game.

"They will have had some scouts watching us in recent games, trying to work out how they can cause an upset.

"We have got to be professional, we have got to do our jobs properly and we have got to get the right result."

Personally, Robinson is looking forward to participating in the FA Cup again, a competition in which he has reached the semi-final stage twice already in his career.

The full-back was part of the Watford side that lost to Southampton at Villa Park in 2003 and then two years ago, he featured for West Bromwich Albion when they were narrowly beaten by Portsmouth at Wembley.

"I'm looking forward to it," he added. "I love the FA Cup, it is special and it's always nice to have a decent run in it".
