Cahill: Job Complete

Posted on: Mon 04 Jan 2010

GARY CAHILL'S man of the match performance was rewarded with his sixth goal of the season and the Wanderers defender was also delighted to have a clean sheet under his belt.

The England hopeful struck Bolton's third goal against the Imps to put his side in a commanding position following Lee Chung-Yong's effort and an own-goal from Moses Swaibu.

Mark Davies grabbed his second of the campaign a minute from the end to put the gloss on a great victory.

He said: "We needed to do a job and get through to the next round that was our target and we achieved that. I thought Lincoln made it difficult in a scrappy first half but we created some decent chances in the second half and I think we were worthy of our goals."

"Personally I was delighted to get on the score sheet, but as I said before, it is always the result that is the most important .

"It is down to us to get up the league now, I believe we have enough in the team to get out of this, and we look to our next challenge and that is Arsenal away."
