Knight Focusing On Fulham
Zat Knight says Fulham will prove to be difficult opponents this weekend but the central defender is confident that the recent hard work on the training ground will reap its rewards.
The Whites are hoping to build on back to back wins at the Reebok and carry on progressing up the table after moving out of the bottom three in the last match on home soil against Burnley.
Knight, who spent eight years with the Cottagers, says that work at Euxton has been thoroughly enjoyable and that there is a real team ethic throughout the squad, no matter which eleven players are selected on a matchday.
He said: "It has been a tough couple of weeks with our games against Arsenal and Liverpool and we have that experience under our belts now.
"The Manager has a clear idea of the type of football he wants his team to be playing and we have been working towards that. He is trying to add to what we have got and get us playing more football and so far I think people can see the difference.
"We now need to continue to develop that for the rest of the season. Fulham are a good side and we have to be at our best. The Manager has said that he wants us operating at our maximum.
"Training is hard but fun, and everyone wants to be in his team and that has been reflected in everyone's attitude and work rate when we are training.
"We have sharpened up and you have to be on your toes. The Manager has said that we have to work to keep the shirt, and that if you do well in training and then there is an opportunity then you will have that chance, and then it is down to you to keep your place.
"As a squad we believe we can get out of this position. That is something we need to show through picking up points and not just talking a good game, and that it is up to us to achieve that success."
