Kevin Davies has called for Wanderers to channel Saturday's frustrations into a strong performance at the City of Manchester Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Resilient Fulham defending and bad luck in front of goal culminated in a scoreless draw against the Cottagers.
And the skipper had a seemingly good header disallowed in the final minute which would have been the perfect way to mark his 500th league appearance.
But despite the disappointment, Davies says that the Whites must now focus on what will be a testing challenge against Roberto Mancini's side.
"We are all disappointed," he explained. "We weren't at our best but they didn't cause us any problems. Johan had a great chance and there was my header so we should have had all three points and we feel a bit hard done by.
"For me, it was clearly a goal. The referee said I put two hands on his back but I thought I out-jumped him.
"Someone told me it was my 500th league game so I suppose it would have been nice to have got the winning goal. I remember my debut game - I came on for Chesterfield when I was 16, we lost 1-0 and I had a goal disallowed on that day too. Some things never change!
"But this game has gone now and we did keep a clean sheet. We've took a point, although it a game that we felt we should have won, and we'll will go into Tuesday and give it a good go before we look forward to the FA Cup tie."
Wanderers faced a mini defensive headache against Fulham with Gary Cahill missing out with an arm injury, Gretar Steinsson being ruled out just before kick-off through illness and Andy O'Brien limping off midway through the second-half.
However, Davies says that the depth and quality of the squad will be able to compensate for any absentees.
The captain added: "There are lots of players who are champing at the bit and are training extremely hard.
"Players are disappointed that they can't quite get in the side but they have to take those opportunities. We have a good squad and players can fill in."
