Fabrice Muamba says that the jubilant scenes after the full-time whistle at Upton Park on Saturday encapsulated the current belief and team spirit within Wanderers' camp.
A number of the players marked the battling 2-1 victory against the Hammers by throwing their shirts into the away end as a thank-you for the support offered from the travelling contingent of Bolton fans.
The win, Owen Coyle's first on the road as manager of the Trotters, was made even more satisfying given the fact that Wanderers had to see out the remaining 20 minutes with ten men following Tamir Cohen's red card.
And it is those battling qualities which has encouraged Muamba ahead of the upcoming important clashes at the Stadium of Light and home against near neighbours Wigan Athletic.
The 21-year-old midfielder said: "It was a great victory and you could see that by the way the boys celebrated at the end. We'd put a great shift in.
"We defended extremely well, we knew their weaknesses and we exploited them.
"The sending-off was a difficult one to take but again, the boys deserve some credit because we worked so hard to pull together to get a great result for Bolton.
"To move up to 13th now is really important. We have got two big games coming up now against Sunderland then Wigan at home, so we will hopefully get another couple of wins and kick on again."

Whilst a team effort was needed to grind out the three points at Upton Park, Muamba paid special tribute to three individual performances - that of both goalscorers and Wanderers' South Korean winger, who once again provided a constant attacking threat.
Muamba said: "Jack (Wilshere) is a great talent, everyone knows what a player he is. To come here and get some experience, to learn how to play a different style of football other than Arsenal can only benefit him in the long term.
"He scored a great goal in what was a much-deserved win.
"Kev (Davies) was awesome - they didn't know what to do with him. He won all the second balls, everything in the air, so credit to him, he was awesome - there's no other word for him.
"Chungy (Lee) is the most consistent player in the team - he does it week-in, week-out.
"I'm so pleased for the guy. The way he set up the first goal was world class."
