Rodrigo: I Can't Wait To Get Started

Posted on: Tue 31 Aug 2010
Wanderers' latest signing Rodrigo Moreno says that he is excited at the prospect of playing in the Barclays Premier League.

The 19-year-old striker also explained that he hopes to reward Manager Owen Coyle for his perseverance in wanting to bring him to the Reebok.

"I'm very excited at making such a big step in coming to the best league in the world," Rodrigo told the official website shortly after completing his season-long loan deal from the Portuguese champions Benfica.

"The manager has known about me for a long time and because he has been pushing for a transfer to bring me here then it motivates me a lot.

"I want to give back to the club all the confidence that they have shown in me so I'm going to do my best to help the team to reach their objectives.

"I'm very much impressed with the stadium and the training ground. I already knew that Bolton are well established and respected in the Premier League but now I have an even better idea of how big a club this is.

"I want to thank everyone at the club for helping this transfer become possible and I'm looking forward to next Monday when I get the chance to meet all the players and start work."

Rodrigo is also delighted to be linking-up with his former Real Madrid team-mate Marcos Alonso and he believes that having a familiar face around him will make it easier to settle into the English lifestyle.

He added: "I played with Marcos last season - he is a great player and a great friend of mine. Hopefully he will help me adapt to the English way of life because he has been here a month already.

"I can speak Portuguese and Spanish and I'm already looking forward to learning English because it will help me with the rest of my life.

"So I'm not just excited about playing my football but also living in England."
