Manager: Rodrigo Will Excite The Fans

Posted on: Wed 08 Sep 2010
Owen Coyle believes that the acquisition of Rodrigo Moreno will add an extra dimension to Wanderers' attacking options.

The Spain U19 international linked-up with his new team-mates at the beginning of the week and the Manager is already pleased with what he has seen in training from his latest recruit.

With Danny Ward expected to head out on loan, Wanderers will have five forwards vying for starting positions, giving Coyle plenty of options.

The Manager said: "In terms of the front places, he's right in there challenging with Kevin Davies, Ivan Klasnic, Johan Elmander and Robbie Blake.

"He can play as a main striker, behind the striker or in the wide areas. He has got pace, can make and score a goal and is naturally left-sided who likes to take people on and get his shots away.

"As far as I'm concerned, he is a real flair player, and the type that we want to entice to the Reebok.

"He is one of those players that, as a fan, you feel something might happen whenever he gets the ball.

"Our football club has an exciting young player on our hands."

Rodrigo

The Manager also explained that he is extremely confident that Rodrigo will be able to adjust to the demands of the Barclays Premier League, but he will wait until the right moment to unleash the Benfica loanee.

"He was on the receiving end of a couple of challenges from the skipper in training on Monday, so if you can cope with that then you will be able to do okay," smiled Coyle.

"I think that's great because the boys are showing him straight away what is involved at the level we are at. He, along with Marcos, will grasp that and really take their game forward.

"He immediately comes into our first team squad, so if and when the time is right then he will appear and be able to show his qualities.

"Remembering that he is only 19-years-old, having Marcos Alonso here will help him settle in to a new environment and a new culture.

"I'm excited at the prospect of seeing them both wearing the shirt for Bolton Wanderers."
