Read 22.06.2004 IN THE beginning, 1874, Thomas Ogden, the schoolmaster at Christ Church, called a meeting of teachers and other young men, and addressed the idea of furthering the game of football within the area, which received plenty of support.
Read 22.07.2003 THE WANDERERS home game against Newcastle in the 1901/1902 saw Harold Williams, who had signed from Bury, score twice on his home debut.
Read 25.06.2004 THE RULES were once again amended for the 1920/1921 season with no offside to be awarded from throw-ins. The Wanderers went into the transfer market and broke their record by paying Luton Town £2,500 for full back John Elvey.
Read 29.06.2004 PRIOR TO the 1939/1940 season many professional footballers joined the Territorial Army, or other National Service organisations, spending their leisure time preparing for what seemed to be the inevitable.
Read 29.06.2004 IRISH INTERNATIONAL Bill McAdams joined Wanderers from Manchester City in 1960/1961. He made his debut in the first win of that season scoring twice in a 4-1 defeat of Chelsea.
