TEN MEN ARSENAL came from two goals behind and scored a fortuitous goal courtesy of two wicked deflections in the last minute to break the hearts of the Bolton faithful against a dogged and determined Wanderers side who gave it everything.

It was the first time a team has come from two goals down to win the game this season in the Premier League and this just shows how unfortunate Bolton have been recently.

A double substitution on the hour mark proved decisive as Arsene Wenger rolled the dice and threw on Walcott and Adebayor whilst seemingly being dead and buried at two goals down and a man sent off.

Arsenal must have thought that Bolton were going to prove a bogey side again by half-time but Bolton are having no luck at the moment.

The game started off with Arsenal on top and trying to get an early goal with Van Persie and Bendtner almost getting the visitors off to a flying start but staunch defending and keeping from Andy O'Brien and Al Habsi ensured Bolton had a platform to build on.

Bolton however put their chances away early on and Matt Taylor opened his Bolton account with a crucial header after Steinsson's perfect first time cross gave the Bolton midfielder a glorious chance and Taylor made no mistake.

Arsenal seemed to have their sprits dampened by this on a sodden Bolton pitch as the torrential rain poured down.  Arsenal only had once chance in the remainder of the half when Toure's speculative shot took a deflection and went inches wide.

Controversy ensued on the half-hour mark when Diaby's awful challenge clattered Steinsson and referee Chris Foy had no hesitation in showing red after the Arsenal left back jumped in with one foot and his studs showing in a tackle reminiscent of Jason Koumas on Gary Cahill at Wigan a fortnight ago.

Arsene Wenger didn't look happy with the decision but after the Eduardo injury you simply can't make challenges like that and expect to stay on the pitch.

If the goal didn't quite dampen Arsenal's spirit, the sending off certainly did as Bolton took charge of the game.  Just before half-time came Taylor's 2nd of the game after bad defending from Arsenal.  Diouf intercepted Flamini's poor pass and centred for Taylor who side-footed the ball home although it took a deflection off Gallas on the way in.

Bolton came out in the second half storming and after being bombarded for the first 10 minutes did not know what had hit them.  Bolton seemed on to get a bag full but couldn't quite take their chances.  Bolton seemed to have an extra two men for the first 15 minutes let alone one with Guthrie, Davies and Diouf combining well and causing pandemonium for Almunia and the Gunners.

Wenger had to do something and although he probably didn't want to use Adebayor and Walcott bearing in mind the Champions league encounter midweek but will be pleased he did as this swung the game in Arsenal's favour.

Only 3 minutes after the substitution, Gallas found himself unmarked in the Bolton box following a corner and slotted the ball past Al Habsi.  Less than five minutes later came the equaliser. Steinsson's lunge on Hleb saw the Icelandic defender catch the man instead of the ball and referee Foy pointed straight to the spot. Van Persie stepped up to score past Al Habsi to send the Arsenal fans wild and scenting victory.

Gary Megson too tried a double substitution with Diouf and Guthrie being replaced by Hunt and Stelios.  The unfortunate Hunt accidentally collided with Hleb and the Bolton born defender was left clutching his left shoulder in severe pain and had to be replaced after only 4 minutes by Rasiak.

The game was now on a knife-edge with both teams looking to get the three points and you always sensed someone was going to get the lead in a thrilling finish to this exciting game that had everything.

Both teams showed great urgency in getting the ball forward and just when it looked that both teams after all would have to settle for a point, Fabregas collected the ball wide on the right and miss-kicked his shot but it took a wicked deflection off Andy O'Brien and an even worse one off Samuel and amazingly ended up in the goals past a stranded Al Habsi who could do nothing.

It was a cruel, cruel blow to Bolton who can be proud of the way they played against an Arsenal team who are riding high in the Champions League and are still in with a shout at the Premiership title.  Bolton need to continue to play like this in the remaining fixtures to move to safety, but will need a lot of overdue luck along the way.
