Danny Shittu joined Wanderers in the summer of 2008 after putting pen-to-paper on a three-year deal.
The powerful defender had spent the previous two seasons with Watford, for whom he made 75 appearances and scored an impressive 11 goals.
Prior to that, the 6ft 3in centre back, who was born in Lagos in Nigeria, was at QPR for five years, clocking up more than 180 games.
A whole-hearted performer who never gives less than a hundred per cent, Shittu's desire to fight for the Wanderers' cause was highlighted in a 1-1 home draw against Hull City when, after receiving a stray arm to the face, he soldiered on throughout the entire 90 minutes sporting a bandage around his forehead and suffering from slight concussion.
