The 2010/11 campaign started on a bright note for Joey O'Brien as he was fit and able to embark in pre-season following a hugely frustrating 20 months on the sidelines.
The versatile midfielder visited world-renowned surgeon Dr Richard Steadman in a bid to cure a troublesome knee injury, and it was hoped that with his consultation, Joey would be able to resume his footballing career.
But a set-back lead to another operation at the start of the 2009/10 season, from which he is now well down the road to recovery.
Last October O'Brien penned an extension on his current deal, one which will see him remain with the club until the summer of 2011.
The Republic of Ireland international is a product of the club's Academy and made his debut for the club in a League Cup tie against Yeovil in 2004.
He then spent time on loan at Sheffield Wednesday, scoring two goals in 15 appearances for the Owls, before returning to the Reebok, where he became a regular fixture in the first team squad.
