The 18-year-old rising star of English football arrived from Arsenal in January looking to gain experience of playing regularly in the top-flight, and few would disagree that his spell with Bolton has been nothing short of a success. Wilshere became the youngest player to score in the Premier League this season with his strike against the team he supported as a boy, West Ham. But it was his industry in midfield which generally caught the eye right through from his debut against Manchester City at Eastlands where the young Gunner overshadowed Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira. After originally breaking into Owen Coyle's side on the left of midfield, he moved to a central midfield role occupying a similiar position to that of his favourite player, Joe Cole.
The 18-year-old, who is rated as one of the hottest prospects in English football, joined the Super Whites from Arsenal until the end of the season in the January transfer window.Wilshere arrives at the Reebok Stadium with the reputation as an elegant attack-minded midfielder who has represented England at every level between the U16s and U21s.
The Stevenage-born teenager became the youngest player ever to represent Arsenal when he took to the field against Blackburn Rovers in September 2008, aged just 16 years and 256 days.
He has since gone on to make a total of 15 appearances for the Gunners, scoring one goal against Sheffield United in last season's Carling Cup.
He made his Wanderers debut in the 2-0 defeat to Manchester City on 9 February, 2010.
