What a debut season it has been for the young South Korean winger, who has taken to the Premier League with real effect.
In a different culture, playing a different style of football, the 'Blue Dragon' excelled and became a firm fans' favourite with the skills and ingenuity which made him one of the most exciting prospects in Asia prior to his transfer from FC Seoul.
He announced himself with the winning strike against Birmingham City just weeks after moving to England and has went on to score further goals against Everton, West Ham United, Lincoln City and Burnley - all matches Bolton went on to win.
Moving to the Reebok from FC Seoul, the South Korean international signed a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee after being granted a work permit and receiving international clearance on 14 August 2009.
He made his Bolton debut a day later, coming on as a substitute in the first match of the season against Sunderland.
He played a starring role in South Korea's World Cup run where he scored goals against Argentina and Uruguay as they reached the last 16 stage.
