The long-serving Jamaican international has just completed his tenth season in a Wanderers jersey.

'Bibi' went six seasons without scoring a Premier League goal up until his vital strike against Manchester City at the Reebok Stadium back in November. Since then, the Jamaican international has been on the goalscoring trail netting on three more occasions, all on home soil against Portsmouth, Newcastle United and Middlesbrough.

Now with over 370 games under his belt, Gardner is still a firm fans' favourite for his service to the club and that can be expected to last even longer after he signed an extended deal which will keep him contracted to the summer of 2011.

He said: "I've enjoyed every moment and I'm looking forward to playing here for the years that I've signed for. The fans have been great to me and helped me settle in when I first came to the club so I have absolutely no complaints. It's always been my dream to play here for so long, although each year I try and set myself a different target and move towards it."

Gardner's 2008/09 campaign was cut short through injury as hamstring strain sustained during the fixture at Portsmouth on April 21 meant that he was ruled out of the final five matches of the season.
