In his 12th year at the Reebok, the fans' favourite contributed in both central midfield and on the left-wing as Wanderers successfully completed their ninth season in the Barclays Premier League.
The Jamaica captain battled with a hamstring injury which limited his amount of appearances after the turn of the year. His only goal of the season came in the 2-2 draw at home to Tottenham in October.
'Bibi' joined the club in the summer of 1998, arriving from Harbour View in a £1m deal, and has since become one of the most loyal servants in the club's history.
Gardner now has more than 380 games under his belt and looks certain to clock up quite a few more; being contracted to the club to the summer of 2011.
He said: "I've enjoyed every moment and I'm looking forward to playing here for the years that I've signed for. The fans have been great to me and helped me settle in when I first came to the club so I have absolutely no complaints. It's always been my dream to play here for so long, although each year I try and set myself a different target and move towards it."
