Wanderers Reserves slipped to defeat on Humberside as Hull City came out 2-0 winners in the Barclays Premier Reserve League.

Veteran striker Dean Windass, who had only recently returned from a loan spell at Oldham Athletic, had given the Tigers the lead, curling in a free-kick from 25 yards.

And Wanderers were dealt a further blow as striker Temitope Obadeyi, who was making his 19th start for the second string this season, was shown a red card for an off-the-ball incident on Steve Gardner.

And as the rain continued to pour on the East Coast, Nathan Doyle made sure of the points for the hosts with a strike in the latter stages of the contest.

Alan Cork's reserve side have now played 16 games in the Premier Reserve League this season and occupy eighth position having won five, drawn two and lost nine. The next outing for the second string is in a week's time against Middlesbrough on Teeside.
