Wanderers second string slipped to defeat in the Barclays Premier Reserve League North, losing 3-0 at the Riverside Stadium.

A youthful reserve team went behind inside six minutes when David Gbemie accidently put the ball past Adam Bogdan following Peter Gal-Anderzly's dangerous cross.

On 32 minutes the lead was doubled as Seb Hines got on the end of Richard Smallwood's free-kick to convert from close-range.

Alan Cork made a double change at the break, bringing Eckersley and Campbell on for Gbemie and Woolfe, but Wanderers were unable to claw back the deficit in the second half.

Robert Sissons came close after a neat dribble when he dragged a shot wide, however the hosts made sure of the victory a minute from full-time when substitute James Gray lashed in Middlesbrough's third goal of the evening from ten yards.
