Ward On Target For Reserves
DANNY WARD was once again on the scoresheet but couldn't prevent Wanderers from suffering a 6-1 defeat against Sunderland.
The Yorkshireman gave the visitors an early lead with a stupendous curling effort that left Trevor Carson with no chance whatsoever.
But the hosts soon recovered from the early setback to go into the interval at 2-1 thanks to strikes from Roy O'Donovan and Nathan Luscombe.
O'Donovan hit a quickfire double after the restart to claim a hat-trick, before further goals from David Healy (penalty) and Luscombe completed the scoring.
Zoltan Harsanyi almost reduced the arrears for Wanderers in the dying stages but his effort struck the woodwork.
