Bolton Wanderers Reserves were denied their first win of pre-season by former striker Matt Jansen at Victory Park.

A youthful second string took the lead when Mark Connolly, who spent the second half of last season on loan at St Johnstone, opened the scoring on ten minutes from a corner.

And it was looking likely that the centre-half's goal would be enough to settle the game up until Jansen's last minute strike.

The 32-year-old made six appearances for the Whites in short spell at the Reebok in 2006, and his acrobatic finish was enough to earn a draw in the Magpies' third friendly match of pre-season.

John Henry's Reserve team are next in action on Tuesday when they tackle Curzon Ashton at Tameside Stadium.
