Sean Davis completed his first full 90 minutes of pre-season as Wanderers Reserves secured a 1-0 win away at Curzon Ashton.

Mark Connolly struck the all important winner - his second strike in as many matches following his goal against Chorley last Friday evening.

The defender was in the right place to convert with a far post header on 21 minutes after a Davis corner had been flicked across by Tope Obadeyi

Despite the narrow margin, Wanderers dominated the contest and had several opportunities to add to their solitary goal.

In the first half, Riga - another senior professional to get a full match under his belt - saw a volley well saved and Chris Basham had a goal disallowed for offside.

After a quiet opening to the second half, the Whites upped the ante with Adam Blakeman firing just over the bar from distance, whilst Danny Ward stung the palms of the home side's keeper with a powerful shot from just outside the area.

Wanderers second string are next in action on Friday when they travel to Highbury to tackle Blue Square Conference side Fleetwood Town.
