Wanderers' second string were edged out 2-1 by Fleetwood Town in their latest pre-season friendly on Friday evening.

After a scoreless first half, the contest came to life after the break when the Conference side took the lead four minutes after the restart through Wayne Davies, with the striker marking his debut with a low finish past Rob Lainton.

The Whites struck back on 66 minutes when Tope Obadeyi, who had spells on loan at Swindon Town and Rochdale last season, found space before neatly converting to register his first strike of pre-season.

However another debutant, Magno Vieira, had the final say with a penalty ten minutes from full-time.

The former Northampton man stepped up to convert from 12 yards after Paul Linwood had been fouled inside the penalty area.

Mark Connolly had started pre-season with two goals against Chorley and Curzon Ashton, however there were contrasting fortunes for the defender at Highbury, as he was sent-off in the dying minutes of the game.
