AFC Fylde 1 Wanderers Reserves 1
Wanderers Reserves recorded an entertaining 1-1 draw against AFC Fylde in their penultimate friendly of pre-season.
The second string nudged themselves ahead with 20 minutes on the clock through Sam Sheridan.
Michael O'Halloran embarked on a blistering run from his own half, beating two defenders before his close-range shot was saved by keeper Lewis Edge.
But Sheridan was well placed to tuck in the rebound with the goal gaping from just eight yards out.
There were further opportunities to extend the lead after half time as firstly Chris Basham saw an effort blocked inside the six-yard box.
And lively winger Maison McGeechan had a long-range daisy cutter well saved by Edge, before he curled another attempt narrowly wide from the edge of the box.
Wanderers kept Fylde quiet until the last quarter of an hour, when Matt Walywyn put his side on level terms on 78 minutes.
The hosts forced four corners in succession and from the last; the substitute pounced just a few yards from goal to grab the equalising goal.
Wanderers: Lainton, Riley, Proudfoot, Bennett (McQuade), Eckersley, Basham, Sheridan (Irwin), Trialist, Ward, McGeechan (Duyile), O'Halloran (Odelusi)
