2011/12 was a breakthrough year for the Hungarian stopper, as he emerged as No.1 for both club and country.
He joined Bolton in 2007 from Hungarian side Vasas, but his Wanderers appearances had been few and far between until January 2012 due to the consistency of Jussi Jaaskelainen.
But when Jaaskelainen picked up an injury at the turn of the year, Bogdan stepped in and produced a string of fine performances to ensure he kept his place in the starting line-up.
Having been given his opportunity, Bogdan grabbed it with both hands and further rose to prominence when he kept out a Wayne Rooney penalty at Old Trafford. His form was so impressive that he went on to be named player of the season.Â
His efforts were also recognised at international level when he was promoted to first choice for Hungary, displacing long-standing No.1 Gabor Kiraly between the sticks.
In March 2011 Bogdan signed a new contract at the Reebok Stadium which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2014.
