Having joined the club from Hungarian side Vasas in 2007, Adam Bogdan has since risen up through the ranks to claim the number one jersey.
Upon his arrival in England, the youngster was forced to pit his wits against Wanderers’ stalwart Jussi Jaaskelainen, meaning that his appearances were limited until January of 2012 when the Finn picked up an injury.
Having been given his opportunity, Bogdan grabbed it with both hands and further rose to prominence when he kept out a Wayne Rooney penalty at Old Trafford, with his form being so impressive that he went on to be named as the club’s Player of the Season.
His efforts were also recognised at international level when he was promoted to first choice for Hungary, displacing long-standing No.1 Gabor Kiraly between the sticks.
Fighting it out with Andy Longergan for a starting place in between the sticks since the Whites’ return to the Championship, the Hungarian has been given the nod in goal for the majority by manager Dougie Freedman.
Bogdan made his 100th appearance for Bolton towards the end of the 2013/14 season, marking the occasion with a clean sheet in a 1-0 home victory against Blackpool in March 2014.
