Lostock Kitchen Upgrade
When the First Team moved over to their Lostock Training Ground, it quickly became apparent that many of the facilities were not up to the standard for the number of people the complex now has to serve and the standard expected of a Sky Bet Championship team.
The Development Association were approached to upgrade the kitchen facilities and ensure that it made the grade at the next visit for the Food Hygiene rating.
To comply with hygiene standards, the kitchen was emptied and the floor covering was taken up. The walls were covered in aluminium sheets for easier cleaning, while aluminium base units which were taken from Euxton were sent away, re-sized and re-fitted.
Aluminium shelving was fixed to the walls, the skirting boards were removed and the new flooring was laid and extended beyond the floor, approximately four inches up the walls where the boards had been removed.
A new hot water system was fitted and new LED lighting installed, while a special counter was installed for the academy players and menu boards fixed to the walls.
The serving hatch was made bigger for easier accessibility, the walls were painted in the dining area and the chairs were replaced making it an overall much improved environment for staff and players alike.
Following the work a hygiene inspection took place and it has now been awarded a four star rating which is the highest you can get for a mobile building.
