As Wanderers travel to Sheffield United this weekend, bwfc.co.uk highlights five talking points ahead of the Whites' Sky Bet Championship clash with the Bramall Lane outfit.
1. Last game of the calendar year
This weekend's game at Bramall Lane marks Wanderers' final fixture of the calendar year, with 2017 certainly having been one for the history books.
With the Whites winning promotion back to the second tier of English football at the first time of asking back in April, they enter their last game of 2017 only a point shy of 21st position having suffered just four defeats in their last 13 league outings.
Can the Trotters end the year on a high with a positive result against the Blades?
2. Former League One rivals
Saturday will see us pit our wits against one of our former League One promotion rivals in Sheffield United.
During the course of last season, we played the Blades on three occasions in league and cup, running out winners twice.
And with the Yorkshire outfit having picked up a slender victory at Macron Stadium back in September, Wanderers will undoubtedly be keen to avenge that result come Saturday afternoon.
3. First league away win of the campaign
Wanderers head to Bramall Lane searching for their first away maximum points haul of the campaign in the Sky Bet Championship, having secured five draws in their twelve games on their travels to date.
And having come agonisingly close to breaking their duck on the road numerous times so far, they will be hoping that Saturday will see that record finally end.
4. Injury news
Speaking in his pre-Sheffield United press conference, manager Phil Parkinson revealed that there are a handful of injury doubts for the Whites ahead of this weekend's encounter.
Sammy Ameobi, Will Buckley and Craig Noone all face late fitness tests, while Andrew Taylor is also a doubt after picking up a calf injury against Middlesbrough on Boxing Day.
5. Pay on the day
