Dylan Wolstenholme and Tom Eaves on target at the Crown Ground
A Bolton Wanderers XI side drew 2-2 with Accrington Stanley on Monday evening in their final friendly before the start of the Development Squad season.
After falling a goal behind on eight minutes when Padraig Amond lifted a finish over Jay Lynch, John Henry’s side turned the game on its head before half-time.
On 18 minutes, diminutive midfielder Dylan Wolstenholme drew Bolton level with a fine strike into the top corner of the net from all of 22 yards.
Wanderers went into the break 2-1 up as Tom Eaves put his team in the lead, shortly after Lynch had denied Bohan Dixon for the hosts.
The former Oldham Athletic frontman found the net with a shot from just inside the area, despite the scrambling efforts of Accrington goalkeeper Andrew Dawber.
The home side restored parity just a few minutes into the second half when Will Hatfield reacted quickest in the area to bundle the ball over the line from close range.
There were chances for both sides to win the game in the latter stages, most notably when Eaves was inches away from converting a right-wing cross.
Oscar Threlkeld in the Bolton back-four was twice required to make important contributions inside his own six-yard box to keep the game at 2-2.
After drawing four, winning one and losing one in pre-season, the Development Squad now head into the competitive action which starts with a trip to the Emirates Stadium to play Arsenal on Monday 20 August.
