Report: Barrow 1 Wanderers XI 1

Two late goals in Friday's friendly at Holker Street

Bolton Wanderers XI continued their unbeaten start to pre-season, drawing their fourth friendly of the schedule 1-1 at Holker Street on Friday evening.

A fairly uneventful match came to life in the last six minutes as Bolton took a late lead when a Sanmi Odelusi cross was turned into his own goal by Barrow defender Mike Pearson.

But the hosts salvaged a draw just four minutes before the final whistle when trialist winger Danny Rowe lashed the ball into the bottom corner from 16 yards out following a half-cleared corner.

The opening 84 minutes had generally been devoid of any real opportunities.

Jay Lynch made a fine save on his goal-line early on from a corner, while Jack Sampson fired wide from the edge of the area having latched onto a through ball from midfield just before half-time

John Henry’s side now have three pre-season fixtures remaining; against Daisy Hill, FC Halifax Town and Accrington Stanley.

Wanderers XI: Lynch, Battersby, Dennis (Hampson 71), Threlkeld (Kellett 71), McQuade, Sampson, Robinson, Blakeman (Woodland 64), Iliev, Eaves (Odelusi 58), McKee
