Skipper Wants Consistency

Kevin Davies targeting back-to-back wins for the first time this season ahead of the weekend's trip to Peterborough

Kevin Davies believes it is time Wanderers put their inconsistent form behind them ahead of this weekend's trip to Peterborough.

The Whites are yet to win back-to-back games this season but the skipper believes that the signs are there to suggest a winning run of form is imminent.

“We’ve had a positive result a few times and not followed it up,” Davies said. “Frustration is a word I’ve probably mentioned 50 times this year.

“It’s important that we now carry on working hard. If you slack off you won’t win games, it’s not possible in this league.

“We have been improving, but we do have to keep our decent form going. We’ve had two good back-to-back performances and it’s important that we carry that on.

“We’ve been playing some good stuff on the road and we should take a lot of confidence from that.

“It would be really nice to go down to Peterborough and get a good result. We’ve not had consecutive wins all season, so if we could achieve that this weekend then I sense that a really good run of form is just around the corner.

“The fans want to see good football and we did that at times against Charlton. But the manager said sometimes we have to try to figure it out, to change things a little bit, and that’s something we did more in the second half.

“We also started getting the ball down more, but you can’t be too predictable; you have to keep mixing it up a bit.”
